Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) and DBR Lab return to National Sawdust to present cross-disciplinary talent by seven emerging artists from Arizona State University on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Original projects explore dance, original music compositions, digital media and spoken word. Featuring special guest Carl Hancock Rux.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
DBR Lab was founded by Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), is managed by Malena Grosz, and documented by Keegan Carlson (photo and video credits). The Lab operates in close collaboration with DBR Music Productions, SOZO Artists, ASU GAMMAGE and is in residence at the School of Music, Dance and Theatre, Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, Arizona State University. www.danielroumain.com/dbr-lab.

Project: IMPULSE, for solo unaccompanied saxophone
A reflection of my spontaneous and adventurous personality, IMPULSE attempts to break free from the confines of genre borders. Each section of the piece speaks to a different aspect of the saxophone’s abilities and features an assortment of techniques and colors that are particular and non-particular to the saxophone. The central theme of IMPULSE is the essence of spontaneous change and adaptation. My hope is to blur the line between the classically-informed and the jazz-influenced saxophone player in order to create an experience that is inviting for broader audiences.
