“Animals make me laugh. They are tender, they are funny, they do things differently and it is fascinating,” says Mama Farm's Isabella Rossellini
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Following film festival screenings in Rome and Morelia, NationalSawdust+ hosts the U.S. premiere of the enchanting hour-long documentary, A Season with Isabella, followed by a conversation with the singular Isabella Rossellini and filmmaker Marian Lacombe, hosted by NS+ curator Elena Park. Vanity Fair has noted that despite her star turns as actress and beauty icon, "Rossellini is also a freewheelin’ gal with mud beneath her fingernails, raising chickens and harvesting honey on her organic farm in Brookhaven, New York, out on Long Island." This revealing film sweeps you into the vibrant world of Mama Farm during pandemic times, where we see Rossellini's commitment to biodiversity, organic practices, and the animal kingdom – a lifelong fascination that led to her formal study of their behavior, as well as memorable works for theater and film, including her zany Green Porno animal sex-life shorts (three of which were featured in NS+ Insectum last season). Lacombe also follows her on location in Italy and France, where her subject muses on creating characters ("The script is just an indication, it's not the final thing") and the craft of storytelling (her parents being Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman); her early days in New York City working with stand-up comedians, which informed her later work; and reflections on being a beauty icon at any age. The screening will be followed by a Q&A, including audience questions.
A Season with Isabella Rossellini was filmed and directed by Marian Lacombe. The documentary was produced by Eléphant & Cie, and will be playing on the Criterion Channel in February 2025.
