Thea Little investigates the intersection of performance art, dance-theater, and experimental music with solo and group works. She has presented throughout the US and Europe. Little has done choreographic residencies in Europe; the Lanchonete residency in São Paolo, Brazil; the LEIMAY Fellowship; the LiftOff New Dance Alliance Residency; and the 100 Bogart Residency with the Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation. She has most recently shown work in the Beaux-Arts Court of The Brooklyn Museum, the SOAK festival, the National Dance Alliance’s 31st Annual Performance Mix Festival, and the Exponential festival, and she recently created and produced two sold-out evening-length works at the Center for Performance Research in April. This summer, Little will be joining Peter Sciscioli and eighteen international artists as part of the Moving Arts Lab and International Interdisciplinary Artists Consortium Residency at Earthdance. Little received her MFA in Dance from Hollins University and her BA from Columbia University. She is a self-taught composer as well, and composes music for her own works as well as for other choreographers like LEIMAY, Karen Harvey Dances, Joya Powell, and Moving Theater. Since 2013, Little has co-directed a multi-disciplinary arts residency in Connecticut called IMAR. She is proud to be on the Advisory Board of the New Dance Alliance as well as being a National Sawdust Artist-in-Residence in the 2018–19 season.
