Lingbo Ma is a recipient of the Presser Foundation’s music award, a Chinese-born, US-based composer and pianist whose work has been performed in the USA, China, and Europe. She strives for unique ways of reaching the ultimate simplicity and clarity while unfolding diverse narratives in her music. Notable recent commissions include works for the Dutch National Opera, National Sawdust, and Collage New Music. Her upcoming project features a chamber opera with a libretto by John de los Santos in collaboration with New England Conservatory’s opera department. A Juilliard School alumna, Lingbo is currently pursuing her doctorate at the New England Conservatory.
