About the Show
THE REVOLUTION is a performance series highlighting Brooklyn & Harlem based artists + musicians that not only represent the core of independent pop culture but who currently stand in the breeding ground of evolution within their genre.
This local musical movement empowers community, change, and activism through performance and unity amongst the arts. Once a month, three different artists showcasing three different genres have a chance to spread love, light, and awareness through their music and their stories. This series supports revolutionary artistry and how important music is to healing, in all aspects of life.
As a part of VOL. 15, The Revolution will feature three incredible live performances from local artists:
Jazzebelle, Mallow and Dot Cromwell.
About the Artists
Jazze Belle
Jazze Belle is a Harlem-based group headed by producer/instrumentalist Jett Carter and singer/songwriter Taylor Simone. With in uences ranging from Jill Scott to SBTRKT, the two share a sound in uenced by jazzy vocals and edgy production, blurring genre lines in the process. All of their in uences can be heard in their rst releases “Jagged Edge”,”SCW”, and in their debut EP Go To Bed Standing Up. The question asked was, ‘What happens when you become your dream?,’ and the answer is a nocturnal EP delving into both the obstacles and opportunities that occur on the path to it.
Mallow
Mallow is the Brooklyn based electronic/footwork project of drummer and producer Ian Barnett.
Ian, while playing drums for Betty Who on tour, produced new music, influenced by experimental hip hop and footwork. His live show is a combination of high impact, precision drumming, melodic synth work, deep bass, sampling, and soulful vocals, resulting in a transcendent musical experience.
Dot Cromwell
Multi talented Lyricist + songwriter Dot Cromwell is a Philadelphia native currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. Creator and visionary behind the AV8TED Collective, Dot is best know for his outstanding lyrical delivery and his writing contributions to Jidenna’s newest record “The Let out” ft Quavo of The Migos. His debut project is set to be released this summer.
