About this performance
A California Road Trip will explore works by “honorary” Californian composers, who, although not natives, wrote extensively in the state or were otherwise affected by its beauty and culture. Program includes: Arnold Schoenberg: String Trio, Op. 45; Ernest Bloch: Suite No. 1 for Solo Cello; Darius Milhaud: String Quintet No 3, Op. 325; Henri Wieniawski: Polonaise Brillante in A major, Op. 21; Joel Friedman: “Uncle Hokum’s Fiddle” for solo violin and “When the World Disintegrates Before Your Eyes” for solo viola (both commissioned for the 2013 Klein Competition).
