The Revolution Vol. 6
About the Artist
Saturday, August 20th 10pm
THE REVOLUTION is an emerging musical series that highlights artists and musicians that not only represent the core of independent pop culture in 2016 but who are standing in the breeding ground of an evolution within their genre. As a part of VOL. 6, The Revolution will feature three incredible live performances:
EL MAR, Chargaux, & Marie Davy
EL MAR
EL MAR is Brooklynbased singer/songwriter Joey Primero alongside a collective of New York City musicians. Describing the sound as “mystical mermaid rock,” the Berklee College of Music graduate was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and comes from Colombian and CubanAmerican decent. The name EL MAR is a nod to her Latin roots, and an ode to her hometown. EL MAR’s debut EP The Road is out now and a full length album is due out in late 2016.
Chargaux
Marie Davy
Marie Davy is a pensive singersongwriter whose work defies genre . Above all, her music seeks to convey grace and beauty in the face of life. Born and raised in Paris, Ms. Davy began her musical career singing and playing piano in venues around the City of Light. When she was 20, Marie decided to leave France for Boston to study music, before ultimately settling in Brooklyn NY. Her debut album, DoubleEntente, whose personnel includes some of the most prominent instrumentalists in today’s soul & jazz scene, lives at the crossroads of cities, languages and soundscapes. Davy’s music possesses a calm strength and a sensuous soul that invites the listener to surrender to her song.
