About
New Zealand–born and Princeton-based composer Gemma Peacocke has been hailed for her “moving, dramatic, and serious” music (Cusp), qualities she brings to her latest work in abundance.
Waves & Lines is a fifty-minute song cycle that uses folk poems written by Afghan women to explore distance, anonymity, and strange new forms of intimacy. Touching on themes of love, sex, war, and grief, Peacocke’s Waves & Lines will be a powerful evening of timely new music.
