Katie Jones (KJ) is a music curator, event producer + tour/production manager residing in Brooklyn, NY. Born in the heart of southern Virginia, KJ’s life has revolved around music from a very young age. Moving to Phoenix at the age of 12, attending a performing arts high school, followed by her acceptance to Berklee College of Music, Katie surrounded herself with talented musicians in hopes of maintaining ultimate support for their artistic journey as a live performer.
After graduating Berklee in 2011, KJ moved to Los Angeles where she worked at Live Nation, while dressing celebrities + performing in a few local bands. In the summer of 2015, Katie took a leap of determination for her own sanity + made the move to Brooklyn to reconnect with her passion, her fellow musicians and totally dedicate herself to the live performance aspect of the industry.
Shortly after her move to New York, KJ began working at National Sawdust. In the early spring of 2016, she founded The Revolution – a performance series highlighting Brooklyn & Harlem based artists + musicians that not only represent the core of independent pop culture but who currently stand in the breeding ground of evolution within their genre. This local musical movement empowers community, change, + activism through performance and unity amongst the local art scene in NYC. Once a month, KJ curates + produces three different artists showcasing three different genres that have a chance to spread love, light, and awareness through their music and their stories. This series supports revolutionary artistry and how important music is to healing, in all aspects of life.
Outside of her full-time role at National Sawdust, KJ continues her work supporting the local community of NYC musicians by assisting with their booking process + live show advancing for US based festivals and one-off shows at various NYC venues.
