The idea of a Liederabend – an evening of song – goes back to Schubertiads and the flowering of German Romantic poetry and song in the 1800s. After three critically acclaimed New York presentations updating that concept, Beth Morrison Projects and VisionIntoArt are teaming up with the LA Phil to create their first 21c Liederabend for L.A., including three world premieres.

Come for: An expansive re-imagining of the traditional art song recital, the 21c Liederabend combines leading contemporary composers and songwriters with cutting-edge multimedia to create an immersive concert experience that explores song for the 21st century.

A project of Beth Morrison Projects and VisionIntoArt, co-curated and co-directed by Beth Morrison and Paola Prestini, in collaboration with the LA Phil
